ACTING TRAINING/WORKOUT FOR ADULTSFRIDAYS - June 4, 11, 18, 25 (4 Sessions) - 10:30AM - 12:00PM / online
Rate for four sessions: $75 for HFC members / $125 for non-members (see below for payment instructions) As part of their mission to make better films and serve the local acting community, HFC is hosting this low-cost, intensive workshop for actors:
Acting training/workout for adults: Beginning and intermediate students explore the basic elements of performance through acting exercises and scene study. Perfect class for reviewing and strengthening the fundamentals of acting. Contemporary techniques are explored, along with script analysis, including audition pieces. Focus is on fundamentals with applications to on-camera performance. Wear loose clothing and be prepared to move. Memorization of assigned monologues is required prior to first class. SCENE work will be done in this class and all students will be expected to rehearse with their scene partner; and attend all classes. In addition to leading a variety of acting workshops and directing workshops for HFC and other O’ahu arts organizations, Ms. Castro has taught beginning and intermediate acting and movement classes to adults and young adults at Cal State University and several private arts schools. Including the Beck Center for Performing Arts in Cleveland, OH; the Academy for Performing Arts in San Diego, CA; and The Junior Theatre of San Diego. She is a founding member of the Actors Alliance of San Diego, co-founder of L-squared Productions, and Grassroots Greeks; and has served as a board member for a number of performing arts organizations, as well as Hawaii Filmmakers Collective. She has completed over 30 weeks of Viewpoints training with Anne Bogart of SITI and has worked with and trained with many nationally and internationally known directors. Linda is an award-winning actress that has played lead and principal roles in over 100 regional theatre productions and has appeared on a variety of prime-time television shows and films in recurring, co-starring, and supporting roles. Linda is a long-time member of SAG-AFTRA and the Actors Equity Association.
