JANA PARK
Jana Park has run HFC’s Special Events since 2017 and served on our Board of Directors from 2016-2018. She envisioned and has produced HFC’s 48-Hour Film Challenge, Short Film Festival, and Red Carpet Party annually.
Jana is an award-winning filmmaker and entrepreneur who was born in Honolulu and raised on Moloka`i and Oahu. Her films have screened at festivals from Alaska to Florida and on the islands of Oahu, Lanai, Hawaii, and Guam, as well as internationally in Tokyo and Cambodia. She was the first female Director/Producer to win Showdown in Chinatown’s Championships competition and her short film “Dillon” (Producer) won Best Cinematography and Best Short at the Worldwide Women’s Film Festival 2019. Jana has been captivated by film-making since her parents let her loose with a video camera at the age of 8. Throughout her youth, Jana wrote, directed, starred in, and produced multiple plays, video skits, and short films, eventually moving to Los Angeles and earning her first degree at L.A. Pierce College. She later studied Politics and Film-making at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in Women's Studies. She has completed over 100 hours in the University's Pacific New Media program, studying Film and Television Directing, Producing, Editing, Writing, Lighting, Sound, and Art Design, and more. She founded her production company, Hapa Film Studios, in 2015. |
