HFC SHORT FILM FESTIVAL RULES

By submitting a Film to the HFC 2018 SHORT FILM FESTIVAL and in order for it to be eligible for competitive consideration, the submitter/filmmaker represents that he or she has obtained consent from any and all owners, creators, writers, producers and/or other authorized representatives of the Film whose consent is required to submit and be screened at the HFC Film Festival on July 28th, 2018 as well as our Red Carpet Bash in September 2018, as well as for HFC Marketing/Promotions purposes, and has read, understood and agreed to all the Official Rules listed here. Hawaii Filmmakers Collective may disqualify any submission that it determines is not in compliance with these Official Rules, and may do so without refunding any or all submission fees paid by the Applicant or returning the Applicant’s submission. 

SUBMISSION ELIGIBILITY​
All Entries must be produced and filmed predominantly in the State of Hawaii. Release date must be January 1st, 2017 or later. All genres are accepted. Short films, music videos, and trailers will be accepted. All entries must be under 15 minutes. Under 10 minutes is preferred. 
Films MUST be submitted via Private and/or Password-Protected Link on Vimeo or YOUTUBE, no in-person entries will be accepted. 

FEES & DEADLINES:
HFC Members & Students: 1st Entry FREE; Additional Entries $10 per film
Non-Members: $10 per film
Deadline to Enter: June 27, 2018

SELECTION
(A) HFC will consider for inclusion in the Festival all eligible films that have been submitted by the above deadline and in accordance with these Terms. All eligible films will be viewed and selected by our HFC Film Festival Screening Committee with quality, content, and length as determining factors in how films are selected. 
(B) All selection decisions are at the sole and absolute discretion of the HFC Film Festival Committee, and are final and unreviewable. 
(C) HFC will notify selected films by July 10th, 2018 using the contact information provided in the registration form. 

FILM DELIVERY FOR SCREENING:
If selected, Filmmaker/Producer/Owner shall provide a high resolution,
exhibition quality copy of the film on a flash-drive or via downloadable link by July 20th, 2018 to Hawaii
Filmmakers Collective.
File Format: 1080 or 720p, H.264 Quicktime .mov or mpeg-4 file.
