Be a part of HFC’s Directors’ workshop and find out!
HFC is offering a new workshop designed to give directors a chance to work with actors BEFORE they get on the set. Learn how to help your actors give their best performance while on set through exercises, hands on experimentation and live feedback from our coaches!
This workshop is geared toward the director’s side of the camera. Bring your own short scene for film/television or web (max 5 minutes), or a monologue for the actors. Directors may ask actors of their own choosing to participate (no fee to the actors). For directors who don't bring their own actors, HFC will invite actors to the workshop as needed.

Linda Castro: A graduate of Univ. of Calif., Ms. Castro has taught beginning and intermediate acting classes to adults and young adults at several performing arts schools, and Cal State Univ.: The Beck Center for Performing Arts in Cleveland, OH; the Academy for Performing Arts in San Diego, CA; and The Junior Theatre of San Diego. She is a founding member of the Actors Alliance of San Diego, co-founder of L-squared Productions, and Grassroots Greeks; and has served as a board member for a number of performing arts organizations. She has completed over 30 weeks of Viewpoints training with Anne Bogart of SITI, and has worked with and trained with many nationally and internationally known directors. An award winning actress that has played lead and principal roles in over 100 regional theatre productions, and has appeared on a variety of prime time television shows and films in co-starring, supporting and recurring roles. Linda is a long-time member of SAG-AFTRA and the Actors Equity Association. Lisa Barnes has a BFA in Theatre from University of Southern California, where she was mentored by the late John Houseman. She studied with Stella Adler for 3 years and “The Neighborhood Playhouse” in New York. She has appeared in over 25 television and film roles and has worked in commercials and voice-over for the past 30 years. Her theatre credits include Off-Broadway, regional and Los Angeles theatre productions. She is the recipient of 2 LA Drama Critic’s Circle Awards and is one of 5 founding members of Primary Stages Co., an Off-Broadway theatre celebrating it’s 31st year. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, The League of Professional Theatre Woman and Past President of Women in the Arts & Media Coalition.
